PLEASE NOTE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS OUTLINED BELOW ARE FOR CANDIDATES ONLY. (PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR CLIENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS).

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using SLB Recruitment Limited’s services. By using SLB Recruitment Limited’s services, you signify your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

Any Candidate undertaken by SLB Recruitment Limited is transacted subject to the terms and conditions detailed below, each of which is incorporated or implied in any agreement between SLB Recruitment Limited and its Candidates. In the event of any conflict between these terms and conditions and any other terms and conditions, the former shall prevail unless expressly agreed to the contrary by a Director of SLB Recruitment Limited in writing.

The following definitions apply:

Agency: SLB Recruitment Limited

Candidate: An individual who is studying or has recently studied at an educational institution; school, college, university or other place of educational equivalent. This individual has set up an account and formed a contract with the Agency in order to use its services.

Client: The company, firm or organisation who has set up an account and formed a contract with the Agency in order to use its Services.

  • The Agency provides a service for the purpose of effecting introductions between Clients and Candidates. The Agency does not employ Candidates nor Clients, directly or indirectly.

  • There is no cost for Candidates to register with the Agency via its website. There is no cost for the Candidate to use the Agency’s services.

  • The Candidate will warrant that the information provided to the Agency at the time of registration is correct to the best of their knowledge. The Candidate agrees to provide the Agency with information which is relevant to their application and which is accurate, to the best of their knowledge at the time of submitting an application. The Candidate agrees to notify info@studentlanguagebureau.com of the Agency of any changes in circumstances or change in their requirements.

  • All documents received by the Candidate from the Agency are strictly confidential and are for their personal information only unless otherwise stated.

  • The Agency is unable to accept applications from Candidates who hold a criminal record. By submitting a registration to the Agency, the Candidate is confirming that they have a clean criminal record and can provide the Agency with a full DBS check if required.

  • The Candidate accepts and agrees that, in order for the Agency to submit their application, the Agency can share their details with Clients, which includes photos, videos and personal information together with contact details. A member of the Agency’s team will request permission from the candidate before processing their application.

  • The Agency does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage, expense, injury or inconvenience to the Candidate or their property resulting from the Agency’s introduction or provision of services or from any acts, omissions or conduct of staff introduced by the Agency. The Agency advises the Candidate to consider taking out appropriate insurance.

  • The Candidate is fully responsible for complying with any insurance policies required, whether travel, health or any other.

  • The Candidate and Client are responsible for ensuring risk assessment, health and safety and other compulsory documentation are submitted to appropriate personnel at all times.

  • It is the Candidate’s responsibility to fulfil the passport and other immigration requirements applicable to their itinerary. The Candidate should confirm these with the relevant High Commissions, embassies and/or consulates. The Agency does not accept any responsibility in the case of the Candidate being unable to travel due to not complying with any such requirements.

  • The Agency cannot be held responsible for any incorrect information supplied by Client nor Candidate. Any significant omissions/errors will fall upon the party responsible and they will be liable for any costs/ compensation sought as a result. The Agency cannot be held responsible for any actions or inactions of the Candidate or Client and both the Client and the Candidate agree to indemnify The Agency fully in respect thereto. The Client and Candidate further agree to indemnify The Agency fully for any inaccuracies or oversights relating to any information or guidance provided to it by the said parties in relation to its business, legal matters, taxation, and employment law, insurance or other. The Client and Candidate must inform themselves and seek specialist advice where necessary.

  • When a Candidate completes an accommodation request form or a language school enquiry on the Agency's website, the Candidate’s enquiry information will only be shared with a third party if permission is granted by the Candidate to the Agency.

  • Candidates have the right to be forgotten by the Agency. In order to do so please email info@studentlanguagebureau.com and all of the data and information provided by yourself to the Agency will be permanently deleted.

  • The Candidate agrees to all these terms and conditions upon submitting a registration to the Agency.

  • The Agency reserves the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time.

  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by English Law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Client: The company, firm or organisation who has set up an account and formed a contract with the Agency in order to use its Services. The terms and conditions within this document shall apply to any contract or agreement between the Client and the Agency.

 

The Agency provides a service for the purpose of effecting introductions between Clients and Candidates. The Agency does not employ Candidates nor Clients, directly or indirectly.

The following service is available from the Agency via the website: Recruitment Service

1.1 Subject to these terms and conditions the Agency shall provide the services to the Client.  The service will begin upon receipt of confirmation and acknowledgement sent by the Client to the Agency. The full agreement is formed on a separate service agreement document made and agreed between both parties (the Client and the Agency).

1.2 The Agency shall provide the services in accordance with these terms and conditions.

1.3 Clients must have an account with the Agency in order to gain access to its services.

1.4 The services do not constitute an offer by the Agency, and the Agency reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to refuse to offer the services to any person or organisation.

1.5 The recruitment service details are not displayed on the Agency’s website. This service is agreed between the Agency and the Client and bound by a formal service agreement.

1.6 The Agency shall perform the services using information and criteria supplied by the Client. It is the Client's responsibility to provide accurate and up to date information. You agree to notify info@studentlanguagebureau.com of the Agency of any changes in circumstances or change in your requirements.

 

Service fees:

Recruitment Service

2.1 All services are paid for by bank transfer, the Agency shall issue an invoice to the Client on formation of the employment contract. Invoices will be sent by email to the address supplied on set up of the Client's account.

2.2 The Client must pay the Agency’s invoices in full within 30 days from the date of invoice. In the event of late payment, the Agency may suspend any or all of the services until payment is received. In the event that the Client fails to pay any invoice within 30 days, the Agency may terminate the services and all outstanding invoices shall become payable immediately. For the avoidance of doubt, the Client shall remain liable for payment of all the Agency services notwithstanding such services have been suspended or terminated. Without prejudice to any other remedy, the Agency reserves the right to charge interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 as amended. If any invoice is not paid when due (within 30 days from the date of invoice), the Agency is entitled to charge a surcharge of up to 3% for every day an invoice is overdue on all invoices which have not been settled in accordance with these Conditions.

2.3 Once a service agreement has been formed, the Agency cannot accept any cancellation of the Agency services: no refunds will be given and outstanding invoices shall remain payable.

2.4 The service agreement is valid for a minimum term of 365 days unless otherwise agreed with the Agency: in the event of early termination, no refunds will be given, outstanding invoices shall remain payable, and the fees in respect of any outstanding minimum term shall become payable.

2.5 Without prejudice to any other remedy, the Agency may terminate the Client's account and any or all contracts and services with immediate effect in the event of material or persistent breach of these terms by the Client or if the Agency has reasonable grounds to believe that the Client cannot or will not pay its debts.

2.6 The Agency reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to close any account at any time without reason. Examples of accounts that may be closed include, but are not limited to:

(i)Those of Clients who have not provided full or accurate contact or company information.

(ii)Those of Clients that the Agency considers to be acting inappropriately or illegally.

(iii)Those of Clients that use the website to advertise websites, services, businesses and/or business opportunities in any part of the job vacancy or on any part of the site.

(iv)Those of Clients who fail the Agency’s credit checking process, or who default on payment.

2.7 The Client agrees to use the website and the services in 'good faith' i.e. to post authentic, impartial and unique jobs of reasonable quality, which provide both adequate and accurate job details. The Client also agrees that any abuse of the services, website or these conditions can result in the Client's access to the services being removed, and its account terminated.

2.8 All intellectual property rights connected with the services and/or the website shall remain vested in the Agency or any third party from whom such rights are licensed. The Client shall not reproduce, copy, modify, adapt, publish, transmit, distribute or in any way commercially exploit any material which is subject to any such intellectual property rights.

2.9 The Agency cannot guarantee that:

(i) The website and/or the services will be available at all times.

(ii)The website will be free from errors; and

(iii)The services will generate any applications, responses or results.

2.10 The Agency shall not be in breach of these terms and conditions if events beyond its reasonable control prevent the Agency from performing the services.

2.11 It is the Client's responsibility to protect their computers against any viruses and malware.

2.12 These terms and conditions, and where appropriate, the order confirmation contain the entire agreement and understanding between the Agency and the Client. The Client acknowledges that it has not relied on any representation made by the Agency in entering this contract, however, nothing in this document shall exclude any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all terms implied by law or statute are excluded.

2.13 In the event that the Client makes a claim against the Agency for whatever reason, the Agency 's liability (if any) shall not exceed the price paid or to be paid by the Client for the Services. Under no circumstances shall the Agency be liable for any consequential, indirect or special losses howsoever arising or for any loss of profits, revenue, interest, goodwill, business and/or savings (whether direct or indirect). Nothing in these terms and conditions shall be construed to exclude the Agency’s liability for death or personal injury by negligence or any other liability which cannot by law be excluded.

2.14 If any part of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, this will not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining parts.

2.15 Notices to the Agency shall be sent by email to info@studentlanguagebureau.com and notices to the Client shall be sent by email to the address supplied on set up of the Client's account.

2.16 From time to time the Agency will contact Clients in order to evaluate the service they receive and also to promote The Agency’s services and products. The Agency monitors the quality of vacancies from time to time in order to provide a better service to candidates.

2.17 The Client undertakes not to solicit, or endeavour to solicit, for employment or engagement with itself or any associated company or organisation, any employee of the Agency or of any member of the Agency. Breach of this shall be a material breach and will entitle the Agency, without prejudice to any other remedies it may have, to terminate the Client's account and services immediately.

2.18 The Agency may, in its sole and absolute discretion, add to, modify or discontinue any of the services from time to time. However, this will not affect any order confirmation the Agency prior to any change or withdrawal of the relevant service.

2.19 The services agreed cannot be changed during the period agreed in the service agreement.

2.20 The fee payable to the Agency by the Client for an introduction resulting in an engagement is calculated in accordance with what has been agreed on the service agreement. VAT will be charged on the fee if applicable.

 

Jobseekers and CVs

  • The Client shall only use CVs and personally identifiable Candidate information for the purpose of finding employment for Candidates.

  • Clients have the right to be forgotten by the Agency. In order to do so please email info@studentlanguagebureau.com and all of the data and information provided by yourself to the Agency will be permanently deleted.

  • The Client shall keep confidential and not supply or make available to any person CVs and personally identifiable Candidate information that the Client receives from the Agency or any Candidate without the Candidate’s express consent.

  • The Client shall comply with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation Act and, in particular, shall take all appropriate technical, organisational and security measures to prevent unauthorised access, loss and use of personal data relating to Candidates.

  • The Client accepts that it is responsible for satisfying itself as to the suitability of Candidates for a job vacancy and verifying the identity of such Candidates.

  • The Client agrees to notify the Agency immediately of any offer of an engagement, which it makes to the Candidate.

  • The Client agrees to notify the Agency immediately that its offer of an engagement to the Candidate has been accepted and to provide details of the remuneration to the Agency.

 

Job postings:

  • By submitting a vacancy to the website, the Client is authorising the Agency to post such vacancy and submit candidates ranked by the Agency in accordance with the Client's criteria.

  • The Client is responsible for the content of the vacancy and will indemnify the Agency against any claim, loss, liability, expense and/or damage ("Losses") in connection therewith.

  • The Client accepts and agrees that, in order for the Agency to provide the Client with services, the Agency can share the personal details of the Client with our carefully selected Candidates.

  • The Client warrants that:
    (i)Its job advertisement particulars shall be accurate, honest and truthful;
    (ii)Its job advertisements shall not contain unnecessarily repeated words or phrases intended to cause a false positioning in the search results seen by a Candidate;
    (iii)Its job advertisements shall not contain links to the website of the Client (or any third party) or any job application contact information without the prior written agreement of the Agency; and
    (iv)Its job advertisements shall not promote any ‘get rich quick’, pyramid selling or network marketing opportunities or similar.

 

  • The Client shall include in the job description the following information:
    (i)Any qualifications and/or authorisations required by law or any or by any relevant professional body;
    (ii)If the rate of pay is included, the job description must also include the nature of the work, the location, minimum experience, training and/or qualifications required in order for an applicant to receive such rate of pay.

 

  • -The Client undertakes not to submit for inclusion in any job posting, it’s recruiter profile, or anything to appear on the website, any material which is illegal, defamatory, offensive, fraudulent, violent, discriminatory, obscene or sexually explicit or which may adversely affect the Agency’s reputation.

  • The Client shall provide sufficient details about itself and the vacancy to applicants including without limitation the Client's identity, the nature of its business, the nature of the role, the type of work to be performed, the commencement date, the likely duration, the hours of work, the location, the remuneration, the intervals of payment and benefits, and the notice periods required to be given and received.

  • If the Client decides not to accept the Candidate’s presented by the Agency after an invoice has been raised, no refund will be made, unless otherwise agreed between the Agency and the Client. The Client is liable to pay the full amount stated on the invoice, regardless of whether or not you ultimately decide to continue with the Candidate(s).

 

  • Applicants' responses will be forwarded by the Agency by e-mail subject to any filtering and ranking. The Client is responsible for verifying the information contained in applicants' responses and the Agency accepts no responsibility for the content of any such application. In particular, but without limitation, the Client is responsible for verifying the applicant's identity, eligibility to work, experience, training, qualifications and authorisations required by the Client, by law or by any relevant professional body for the vacancy.

  • All and any subsequent dealings between the Client and any applicant in connection with the applicant's response to the job posting are the responsibility of the Client, and the Agency accepts no liability whatsoever therewith. The Client will indemnify the Agency against any losses in connection therewith.

  • The Client shall indemnify the Agency against any losses in connection therewith.

 

  • -The Client shall not post any vacancy where:
    (i)There is a risk to the health and safety of any applicant at the location where the work is to be performed, unless the Client undertakes to inform the candidates of such risks and the steps taken to prevent or control such risks; or
    (ii)The role involves working with vulnerable persons, including without limitation persons under the age of 18 or persons in need of care and attention by reason of old age, infirmity or any other circumstances, unless the Client undertakes, in respect of the candidate to be placed,
    (iii) (i) to obtain copies of any relevant qualifications or authorisations of the candidate; (ii) to obtain two references from persons who are not relatives of the candidate; and (iii) to take all other reasonably practicable steps, including without limitation complying with all relevant laws, codes of practices and guidelines issued by relevant authorities, to confirm that the candidate is not unsuitable for the position concerned.

 

  • -The Client accepts responsibility for any detriment which it may suffer or incur in respect of the engagement of an applicant and shall hold the Agency harmless against any losses in connection therewith. The Client shall use all reasonable endeavours to ascertain that it will not be detrimental to the interests of the applicant it intends to engage (if any) to work for the Client in the vacancy posted.

  • The Agency reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to remove any vacancy at any time without reason. Examples of vacancies that may be removed include, but are not limited to:
    (i)Those that the Agency considers illegal, inappropriate or fraudulent.
    (ii)Those that directly or indirectly require or ask for application or registration fees.
    (iii)Those that advertise franchise, pyramid, network marketing or get-rich-quick schemes.
    (iv)Those that have been indiscriminately posted or duplicated across multiple sectors.
    (v)Those that advertise websites, services, businesses, business opportunities and/or contact details.
    (vi)Those of Clients who solicit staff from any member of the Agency.

 

  • The Client is fully responsible for complying with any insurance policies required, whether travel, health or any other.

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring risk assessment, health and safety and other compulsory documentation are submitted to appropriate personnel.

  • The Agency reserves the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time.
